Lego The Hobbit: An Unexpected Minifigure-Trailer #2

Hi everyone, Greg Olego here with a new stop motion video. This is the second trailer for the Lego Hobbit movie I am making. The movie is about two-thirds of the way finished. This trailer is less bouncy and better filmed than my original, and I now have better resources for filming. The movie will hopefully be finished sometime between the holidays and mid-February. I may publish a third trailer soon, as the new Hobbit sets have been released. Please enjoy.
Til next time,
Greg Olego.

Forgotten: Part 3

If you have not read this story before, please scroll down the screen until you reach "Forgotten: Prologue". If you start from there the rest of this story will make sense.

Part 3
I backed up quickly. I had seen these snakes before, during a battle, when one attacked CT-7487939, or "Droidhack." Let's just say that, well, he would have had some pretty interesting green-and-purple tattoos, if he was still breathing after he got them.  I ran back into the abandoned city-building, with the snake right behind me. I moved through a doorway in the back left-hand side of the room. I instantly realized I had made a mistake. The natives apparently dug underground to increase the amount of living space in each city. I was now in a room with eight possible exits, nine if you count the door I had just gone through. Any of those doorways could yield the snake behind it. Another problem: It was very dark in the building. The snake had night vision and I did not. I had lights on my helmet, but if I turned them on I would be spotted immediately. I suddenly heard a hissing, slithering sound coming from the left. My response was to quickly run through the doorway on the right. Now I was heading downhill. I heard the hissing sound behind me again. Now I had three choices: Left, right or forward. I chose the left this time. As I ran, I heard the snake right behind me. I suddenly realized I was moving upwards. I came into another room and ran directly forward. I came into another room and turned right. Suddenly I was outside. I stopped for a moment, blinking in the sudden light. That moment was all the snake needed. It whipped its tail around, knocking me onto my back, making my helmet fly off and forcing me to drop my blaster. I started to back up, while the snake lashed its claws at me. I dodged first one, then another vicious attack until my hand bumped against something, a small stone. I grabbed it and threw it as hard as I could at the snake. The stone hit it in the eye. It bellowed in pain and slithered backwards, giving me enough time to crawl over and grab my blaster. I rolled over onto my back again and fired shot after shot at it. One shot hit it in the face, one hit its torso, and one hit it in the tail, knocking it onto its belly. I stood up and fired three more shots into its head, then ran off as fast as I could. Eventually I stopped, sat down, and ate the rations hungrily. Suddenly I heard the sound of a blaster being cocked behind my head. "Surrender, clone," a battle droid said.
Thanks for reading.
Til next time, Greg Olego.

Forgotten: Part 2

If you have not read this story before, please scroll down the screen until you reach "Forgotten: Prologue". If you start from there the rest of this story will make sense.

Part 2
The planet I was on, Rhizozium, is relatively pleasant. The environment is mostly wooded, like a jungle,  dotted here and there with grassy plains and savannas. The wildlife is for the most part composed of large birds, reptiles, and insects. The few mammals on the planet are quite advanced, living together in communal city-buildings taking up comparatively little space. Or at least they used to, until the Separatists arrived. The droid forces captured the innocent, peace loving natives of the planet, placing them in concentration camps. The few organic beings leading the occupation of Rhizozium mutated some of the wildlife, turning them into living weapons. The few natives who escaped the concentration camps contacted the Republic to help them free the planet. By the time the 501st arrived, however, the rebels had already been captured. Apparently, after weeks of fighting, the Republic was beaten and had to pull out, accidently leaving me behind. I was reflecting on this when I came upon one of the native's city-buildings. It was large and rectangular, built out of the natural grey stone that falls off of the mountains over time. After forcing the natives out, the Separatists had turned it into a fortress, complete with gun turrets and food rations, for whenever some of the organics came by for a status check. This one had apparently not been used for a while, as it was starting to become overgrown. I entered cautiously. There was still a few rations left on a table in one of the front rooms. I grabbed them. I had been running for hours through the jungle, so I was pretty hungry. I thought I heard a noise, so I backed out the door, blaster raised. I turned around and came face to face with a giant, ten-foot-long mutant snake, with arms ending in long claws dripping with venom.
Thanks for reading.
Til next time, Greg Olego.

Forgotten: Part 1

If you have not read this story before, please scroll down the screen until you reach "Forgotten: Prologue". If you start from there the rest of this story will make sense.

Part 1
When I woke up, it seemed unusually quiet. I turned over in my bunk, trying to fall back asleep, but the odd silence kept me awake. Finally I sat up, stretched, and looked around. I was alone in the barracks. I jumped out of my bunk and ran outside to the vehicle storage area. All that was left was my AT-RT, fallen over on its back and on fire. I looked up. There were still Separatist ships in the sky, but no Republic ones. That's why it seemed strangely quiet. For the last couple of days I kept hearing dull thuds from the space battle raging above us. Suddenly I got a really bad feeling something was wrong. I ran back into the barracks yelling,"Guys? Guys? Is anybody in here?" There was no answer. I ran towards the weapon store. Everyone's blasters were gone, except for mine and five thermal detonators. I ran back to my bunk to grab my communicator. It was broken in half. "I knew I landed on something when I fell out of my bunk," I muttered angrily. Now I had no way to contact any Republic forces. I realized the 501st must have left earlier that morning. I had been forgotten and now I was alone on a planet covered with hostile forces. I ran into the supply storage, where we kept our rations. There was just enough left for one meal: my breakfast. I ate quickly (I had not had time to eat dinner the night before), ran into the barracks, put on my armor, ran into the weapons storage, grabbed my blaster, grabbed a backpack, and started throwing detonators into it. Suddenly I heard a noise. I ran towards the exit of the base and stopped before I ran outside. I peered around the edge of the door. Droids were coming into the base! I ran towards the weapon store to grab the backpack filled with detonators but heard the droids entering the barracks. I noticed a remote trigger near the backpack. Suddenly I had an idea. I linked the detonators to trigger when i pressed the button on the remote. Then I ran through the back way into the supply store and through the back door there. Once far enough from the base, I pressed the button. The entire base exploded in a fireball. "Thank you, tibanna-filled plunk droids," I muttered as I ran away from the destroyed base.
Thanks for reading.

Forgotten: Prologue

 Forgotten: A Lost Clone's Story

Prologue
Blaster fire came from behind me. "I hate droids," I mutter as I sprint across the open plain towards what must have once been a sturdy wall, now reduced to rubble with barely enough of the original wall left for cover. As I dive behind it, I hear the sounds of the droids closing in around me. I fire a couple shots and realize I only have five left. I slide into a sitting position with my back to the wall and ask myself,"How did I get into this mess?"

Lego News: Two New Online Novels!

Hi everyone, Greg Olego here with some news. I am starting two more online novels.

The first is called "Forgotten: A Lost Clone's Story". It is about a 501st legion clone trooper, who was asleep when the rest of the 501st left the planet. Now he is stuck on a planet crawling with battle droids, with a broken communicator.

The other one is called "The Nindroid Chronicles". It is based on the new 2013 Ninjago: Rebooted storyline, and set up as a prequel and spin-off. The main character is the Borg Industries Nindroid: Warrior Series: Mark 1 Prototype, or "LLOYD". He was built to fight the ninja, but instead he joined them.

So those are my two online novels. I shall start them soon.
Til next time, Greg Olego.

Review for Homing Spider Droid

Hello everybody, this is Greg Olego with another review. This set is called Homing Spider Droid, and it costs $29.99 in the US.

It has 295 pieces and lots of functions. Here is the back.

And here it is! It has Jedi General Stass Allie, an Episode II clone trooper, two super battle droids, a dwarf spider droid, and a homing spider droid.

Here is Stass Allie. She is new and currently exclusive to this set, as well as having all unique pieces.

Here she is from the back.  She also has back printing and a unique Tholothian headdress.

For scale, here is me next to her.

Here is the clone trooper. He is an infantry trooper, but with all new pieces.

Here he is without his helmet. He has new face printing.

Here he is from the back. He also has a new DC-15 blaster rifle.

For scale, here is me next to him.

Here are the two super battle droids(SBDs). They are a different color than the 2009 SBDs, as well as having two identical arms.

Here it is from the side. It has a printed blaster on the lower part of each of its arms.

For scale, here is me next to it.

Here is the dwarf spider droid. it is very useful for stop-motions, as it appears during the Clone Wars, as well as the Galactic Civil War.

It can stand up very high on its four posable legs.

It can also move its cannons and eyes up and down.

For scale, here is me next to it.

Here is the homing spider droid. It is so big, I could not fit it into the picture.

The top section of its head can rotate.

The top cannon is also a flick-missle.

Its lower cannon can pivot up and down.

Its legs are very posable.

For scale, here is me next to it.

I tried to interview Stass Allie. This is how it went:
Me: How do you like being a Jedi?
Stass Allie: it is pretty interesting.

Me: What is it like, fighting in the Clone Wars?
(Suddenly we heard a loud boom.)
Stass Allie: I have to go.
Me: Okay.

Then I tried to interview a clone trooper.
Me: How do you like being a clone trooper?
Clone trooper: Well, it feels kind of temporary.

Me: What is it like, fighting in the Clone Wars?
(Suddenly we heard another loud boom.)

Clone trooper: I have to go.
Me: Okay.

Finally, I tried to interview a super battle droid.
Me: How do you like being a droid?

Cranberry: Greg! Greg! Gre...Uh oh.

SBD: Enemy detected. Eliminate.

Me (igniting lightsaber): Wow, they really are dim.

Then I ran to help Cranberry.

All in all, I give this a 9.9 out of 10. I really can't think of a way to improve this, except maybe making the homing spider droid more easily posable.

Post-Halloween answers and news

Hi everyone, this is Greg Olego with the answers to my Halloween quiz. In the picture, I am dressed as Jay, the blue ninja from Ninjago in his ZX robes. When I was trick-or-treating, I dressed as (Drumroll please. Dum dum dum DUM! Thank you.) Greg Olego! Yes, I dressed up as myself. It was actually harder than I expected.
In other news: The ongoing stop-motion series, "The Adventures of Greg Olego" (TAoGO) is getting modified! As well as being a video series, it is now also going to be a online novel by the same name.

Also, I would like to introduce a new friend! He is CC-9263, or as he likes to call himself, "Captain Cranberry"! Here is me trying to interview him.
Me: Hello, Captain Cranberry.
Cranberry: Hello!!!

Me: So, how do you li...
Cranberry: Ooh, Camera!

(Here the camera got knocked over with a loud crash)

Me: Captain Cranberry, you knocked over my camera!
Cranberry: Oops, Sorry.

Anyway, you get the idea. So that's it for tonight's post. I am going to try to post again tomorrow.

Greg Olego

Review for Lego The Lord of the Rings Gandalf Arrives

Hi everyone, it's Greg Olego, here with another review. I'm sorry that I haven't been blogging lately, I've had a busy month. However, I'm back, and I'm going to try to blog much more often now.
Anyway, this set is called Gandalf Arrives. I got it for Easter, and I've been meaning to write about it for a while. It has 83 pieces, two minifigures, and costs $12.99 in the US.

It is full of accessories, so if you like them, you would like this set, even if you are not a fan of Lord of the Rings. Here is the back.

And here it is! It includes Gandalf the Grey, an exclusive Frodo Baggins in a Shire outfit, (the Shire Frodo is also available in a polybag.) a cart, a horse, three fireworks, one of which is the dragon firework that Merry and Pippin set off in the movie, Frodo's book, Gandalf's staff, and a letter. (If you want, it can be the envelope with the One Ring inside it.)

Here is Gandalf. He has a grey torso, grey hat, and grey beard.

He also has a grey cape, grey legs and back printing. Here he is from the back.

For scale, here is me next to him.

Here is Frodo in his Shire outfit. He has dark brown hair in the new "Hobbit" mold and is wearing green.

Here is Frodo's worried face.

Here he is from the back. He also has short, brown legs and back printing.

For scale, here is me next to him.

Here is Gandalf's cart. It is tan and brown.

Here it is from above. It has a knapsack and a barrel.

You can detach the horse from the cart. It has a brick in the center that you can remove to allow a minifigure to ride it.

It is one of the new Lego horses, so its head can move up and down, and it can rear up on its hind legs.

For scale, here is me next to it.

Here are the accessories. They are Frodo's book, a letter, a carrot, and three fire works.

Here is Frodo's book. You can open it and put it into Frodo's hands to make it look like he is reading.

Here is the letter. You can use it in many ways.

Here is the carrot. It can be held this way...

... or this way.

You can also detach the stem from the main part.

Here are the fireworks. There is a green one, a yellow/white one, and the red dragon one.

I tried to have an interview with Gandalf. Here is how it went:
Me: How is it, being a wizard?
Gandalf: It's good.

Me: D...
Gandalf: However, something has come to my attention that I must attend to. Farewell.
Me: Okay, bye.

Me: Frodo! would you like to answer some questions?
Frodo: OK, sure.

Me: Do you like being a hobbit?
Frodo: YES.

Me: What did you think about Bilbo's adventures?
Frodo: I liked them. However, they feel like they are missing something.

Me: W...
Gandalf: Frodo, do you still have your envelope?
Frodo: Yes, Why?

Me: Um...
Gandalf: This is the One Ring. You must leave immediately.
Frodo: Um, okay.

Me: WAIT! WHAT ABOUT...
Me: Aww...

All in all, I give this set a 9.7 out of 10. It could have maybe included a older version of Bilbo than the one that you can get with the Hobbit sets, and also, considering they had the "Ring envelope", maybe the One Ring.

Till next time,
Greg Olego
